As the great Ramsey Castaneda quoted, "jazz can be anything [...], jazz can be walking down the street!"

Through many explorations of jazz music, we've understood that the music is representative of something beyond just a genre of music.
We've found, that, to be a great jazz musician, you must have an extraordinary skill and understanding of your instrument. Jazz is the most expressive art form: improvisation is the heart. Improvisation is self expression. To be able to express yourself on your instrument, you must be so comfortable with it that you don't need to think about any of the technicalities that come with it. This mastery comes with a lifetime of practice and immersion in the craft.

So we figured that, what makes jazz so incredible, is only partly the music itself. More so, that it is an art form that requires mastery and allows for extraordinary self expression. This is the joy.

Through listening and watching jazz, , we found that observing jazz translates into a feeling you get. This feeling of... "WOOOOOO!" You think to yourself 'ohhhh yes that is incredible'

This feeling isn't limited to just jazz music. What even is jazz music? Everybody has their own version of jazz: whatever it is that gives you this feeling.

Theoretically, therefore, jazz doesn't have to involve mastering a craft. One can have jazz, make jazz, see jazz even without a lifetime dedication to practice.
Like, now, I sit in the cafe of Camden Arts Centre, and I think... this is jazz.
The environment surrounding is jazz. There is joy, communication, laughs, plants, foods, drinks. For me, it is jazz.
And so, for our project, we hope to explore jazz in all forms. What peoples ideas of jazz are: what peoples jazz is. We will do this by documenting these various forms of jazz and sending it off to you all to enjoy and hopefully find interest in. Perhaps you can determine whether you think these peoples, places, things, are jazz or not. It is all up for interpretation!!..
We are now in the process of filming and discovering as of April 23, 2024. We hope to release our films in November-December of 2024.
In addition to the videos we release, we will also sell various items that we collect along the way. For whoever we document, we will take a piece of them with us and offer it to you all. The items will be limited to 1/1 mostly and will include a small design of ours on them.
